Harbour trailers up to 6 km/h may only be used on public roads, if
- towed by a drawing vehicle with a max. designed speed of 6 km/h
- proved, that the stipulated brake retardation of min. 1.5 m/s2 according to § 41 (9) StVZO is met in combination with the drawing vehicle.
- driven on up- and downward slopes not exceeding 2%
- illumination devices are mounted, locked into position and electrically connected.
- the load securing has been checked and found to be appropriate.
- during parking of the trailer the rear axle is secured by two stop blocks.
- the possibly existing rear steering axle is fixed and secured in straightforward position.
If a harbour trailer up to 6 km/h is to be used on public roads, then the road traffic authorities in charge will issue a special approval according to §70 StVZO if the above conditions are fulfilled. Normally, this procedure is necessary only once. Upon request, we will provide you with this approval upon purchase of a harbour trailer. Weber’s unbraked 6 km/h harbour trailers are equipped with 2 stop blocks as a standard.
Our 25 km/h trailers come ex works with an operating license according to §21 StVZO, i.e. they are allowed to be moved on public roads with an appropriate drawing vehicle with a velocity of max. 25 km/h. For these trailers there is no need for a (special) approval and no need for a licence plate. Moreover – accompanied ex works by a master TÜV approval, there is no need for any future TÜV testing or approvals. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.
